APRIL 20 |  Workshop: Robert Hauser, Conservator, Bound to Be Unbound. Free and open to Brown/RISD undergraduate students. Limited availability, please register. The John Carter Brown Library, Conference Room,  10:30-11:30a.m.

Join conservator Robert Hauser for an examination into the structure of the traditional hand bound book and the making of modern machine bound books in a hands-on workshop set in one of Brown University’s special collections libraries.

Take apart a contemporary case-bound book (supplies provided), and learn about how today’s book structures compare to traditional hand bound book structures. The session includes educational resources for  individuals interested in art and book conservation training and careers.
