February 1 |  Gallery Talk: RISD Museum exhibit, The Festive City, a look at European festival books & printsLimited to Brown/RISD undergraduate students. Please register. RISD Museum, 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m.

Journey to The Festive City with the curators of a new exhibition of festival books and prints at the RISD Museum. Associate Curator Emily Peters and Professor Evelyn Lincoln will walk you through this display of diverse and visually stunning books from the 16th through 18th centuries, drawn from the collections of the RISD Museum, Brown’s John Hay Library, and collector Vincent J. Buonanno.

Discover how elaborate public festivals, carnivals, coronations, processions, races, and fireworks displays—punctuated daily life in European cities. Peters and Lincoln explain how rarely seen festival prints and books recorded these expensive but fleeting events.

OPEN TO BROWN/RISD UNDERGRADUATES.

Register here!
