William Cowper’s 1698 edition of The Anatomy of Humane Bodies is currently in the Conservation Department undergoing treatment. On Wednesday, October 31st, Rachel Lapkin will present a suitably gruesome display for lovers of Halloween and 17th century medical history. Come to hear the story behind the English text, the engraved dissections, and stay to look at the book’s construction and options for repair.
The presentation begins at 12:00 pm in the Conservation Lab, located in the basement of the John Hay Library.
