OCTOBER 23 Student Seminar: Thomas Horrocks, Director of Special Collections and the John Hay Library, “Promoting Honest Abe, the Rail Splitter: Lincoln’s Campaign Biographies and the Making of an Image.”

Join us for a visit to the John Hay Library for a show-and-tell and  informal presentation on Abraham Lincoln’s 1860 campaign bios, given by Director of Special Collections and the John Hay Library, Thomas Horrocks.

The John Hay Library houses Brown University Library’s collections of rare books and manuscripts, the University Archives, and many special collections on a wide variety of topics. Notable areas of strength include American literature and popular culture, political and diplomatic history, the history of science, book arts and graphics.

Now open to all. Limited to 20 attendees. Please register. The John Hay Library, Bruhn Room (204), 3:30-4:30 p.m.
